KARI BAILEY

Owner, Stylist and Massage Therapist


Kari graduated from Southeastern School of Neuromuscular and Massage Therapy in 2005. She worked as a massage therapist at a salon in Spartanburg for a little over a year before deciding to venture out on her own and open Head & Shoulders Salon with her good friend, Dawn Shands. In 2008, she furthered her education in the beauty industry by attending Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology and becoming a hair stylist. Several years later, Kari became the sole owner of Head & Shoulders Salon. As a result of professional service and stellar personnel, they have grown to be one of the largest salons in Spartanburg.

In March of 2022, Kari stepped away from doing hair and massage after a 17-year career. She now dedicates her time to supporting the stylists at her thriving salon, being a busy mom of three young children, and running her and her husband's AirBNB on the Isle of Palms in Charleston, South Carolina.

 

CHELSEY ROUSH


Chelsey has been in the beauty industry for almost 6 years. Chelsey loves being a part of an evolving industry that brings new and exciting challenges each day. She relishes the experience of transforming a negative perception someone may have about themselves and making them feel beautiful and positive about their appearance again.

Chelsey specializes in curly hair, balayage, and painting techniques. She considers offering the newest techniques and concepts as vital in this industry. She also has her instructor's license and plans to pursue teaching at some point along her hair journey.

 

TABITHA NELSON-CUYAR


Tabitha has been in the hair industry since 2002, and her enthusiasm for the profession continues to grow each year. She delights in the challenges of an ever-changing industry, and enjoys keeping up with new fashion trends and styles.

She specializes in color, highlights, cuts and special event hair and makeup. She knows when her clients love the look of their hair, she has done her job right.

 

JENNA VAUGHAN


Jenna is a 2005 graduate of The Royal Academy of Hair Design. After 12 years behind the chair, she decided to further her education by going to instructor training to teach cosmetology. Over the past 14 years she has developed a niche for styling long hair. Another area of her expertise is dry cutting, which she believes provides optimal results. Jenna also loves foiling, and is very capable with ombré techniques.

 

ANNA VINESETT


Anna first discovered her passion for hair at a young age when she started experimenting on her dolls. In 2004, she graduated from Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology. Since then her skills have progressed and evolved, and hair has become a craft that lets her and her clients' originality shine.

She specializes in all facets of the industry, but puts most of her focus into color enhancements and hair shaping. Anna has her own unique flare for color, from edgy punk rock to flower child ombré. Her style also radiates through her whimsical long hair artistry to ethereal pixie cuts and everything in between.

Anna's primary objective is to emphasize her clients' true inner beauty by transforming their hair into a canvas to create a look that speaks volumes.

 

ASHLEY CATON


Ashley studied cosmetology at The Institute of Cosmetic Arts and Carolina College of Hair Design in 2004. In 2010 she expanded her career in the cosmetology field by training to become a nail technician to complement her services.

While behind the chair, Ashley takes great pride in listening to exactly what her clients' wants and needs are while discussing various possibilities with them. She enjoys taking part in the transformation of unhealthy, damaged hair to healthy, lustrous locks. Her proficiencies include color formation and layering techniques.

As a nail technician, Ashley appreciates the relaxation and health benefits that come from tending to her clients' feet. One aspect she loves about both hairdressing and nail work is the extraordinary observation of someone's stress washing away and their confidence being boosted as she cares for them.

 

SHANNON MELTON


Shannon is a 2004 graduate of RD Anderson vocational school. She stays up-to-date with the latest trends, styles and techniques through continuing education classes.

She is talented with special event styling (in-salon and on-site), precision color placement and women's haircuts. Her calm and pleasant disposition puts her clients at ease, and provides a relaxing environment while she pampers them. Her intention is to make each client feel better about themselves before they leave her chair…and they always do.

Outside of the salon, she enjoys spending time with family, cooking, and yoga. Her extensive knowledge of horticulture and gardening techniques also benefit both her fellow stylists and clientele who often ask for her advice in this area.

 

RACHEL MOSLEY


Rachel is a 2004 graduate of the Institute of Cosmetic Arts. She earned her BS in chemistry from the University of South Carolina (go Gamecocks), and completed her MBA in 2012.

Rachel is passionate about the industry, and her life's mission is to help empower women pursuing their own dreams. She is a full time cosmetology and lead esthetics instructor in Greenville, and is in the salon nights and weekends by appointment only.

Her expertise includes color, cuts, texture services, and of course, skin care!

 

BRIANNA THOMPSON


I'm Brianna Thompson, but I go by Bri! I have been a licensed cosmetologist for 5 years. I went to school at Strand College of Hair Design in Myrtle Beach. I was a client of Head and Shoulders Salon for 10+ years before joining this awesome team of stylists. This salon is one of the reasons I fell in love with hair!

I love all things hair! Some of my specialties are dimensional blondes, platinum blonde, highlighting, balayage, color and haircuts. I enjoy working with all types of hair. I'm a Redken Shades EQ Specialist but am familiar and use several different brands of products and color.

I'd love to have you in my chair!

HEATHER PORTER


Heather graduated from cosmetology school in 2007. In the salon, she enjoys the change of pace between styling hair and pampering her nail customers. Her favorite part of working in this industry is interacting with her customers and making them feel beautiful. You'll leave your appointment as her friend.

Some of her specialties are clipper cuts (fades), platinum blondes and dip acrylic nails. She enjoys staying current with all hair and nail trends.

 

KAMI


Kami is licensed as a nail technician and is working toward her esthetician licensure. Kami has been working as a full-time nail technician in Spartanburg for three years after moving from Hawaii when her husband retired from the military. She has two children, William and Jasmine, and enjoys spending time with her family when she isn't working. When she sets an appointment, she will be there prepared to start work on time for your appointment and she appreciates promptness in her clients so that the next client gets the same quality service that she provides to you. If you want quality nail and pedicure services then Kami is available and accepting new clients. She is an amazingly skilled technician and takes pride in providing an extraordinary experience that you will enjoy while she works to beautify your hands and feet. Her services focus on dip powder nails, manicures, and pedicures with either regular polish or gel polish.

 

ASHLEY VARNER


Ashley graduated from the Institute of Cosmetic Arts in 2005 and has been doing hair 17 years. She enjoys doing color and cuts and she specializes in curly hair. Ashley loves it when clients give her the opportunity to be creative. Her clientele is not just another head of hair— they are her family. Outside of the salon, her faith and family are most important to her. She is excited to offer nails and spray tanning to her service list for customers very soon.

 

SARAH EMORY


Sara's passion for the hair industry started at a very young age when she used to play with manikins in her grandmother's salon. At the age of 17, she graduated from Chesnee High School with her cosmetology license from Swofford Career Center. After a decade behind the chair, she furthered her education by completing the Instructor training course to teach cosmetology.

Sara specializes in haircuts for both men and women, blonding services, and gray coverage. Her main goal is for each guest to leave her chair feeling and looking their best!

 

REBECCA COLLINS


Rebecca grew up in the quiet town of Honea Path, SC. A 2009 graduate of Belton-Honea Path High School and a 2011 graduate of Greenville Tech Massage Program. Rebecca spent her first two years as a sole practitioner in Belton, SC. In 2014, Rebecca moved to Spartanburg to marry her husband and raise her two kids. From 2014 to 2023 she worked for Massage Envy, honing her skills and craft.

To date, she is certified in Oncology Massage, Prenatal, Cupping, CBD, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point Therapy, Migraine and Sinus release, Geriatric Massage and Pediatric Massage. Rebecca doesn't work, or so she says; she pops human bubble wrap and uses therapeutic touch to allow healing to start. Her healing comes at home with her family, the cat and dog, and her front porch swing.
